About Steven D. Wooten
As a New York native, Steven Wooten grew up participating in the Metropolitan PGA Section and traveled the country playing in National and International junior events. In addition, Wooten competed on the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT), The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) and the Plantation Junior Golf Tour (Currently known as the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour). His tournament experience earned a competitive seat playing collegiate men’s golf at Morehouse College under the tutelage of William Lewis, PGA. Wooten served as an assistant instructor to Coach Lewis for over 10 years. His responsibilities included assisting with junior and adult golf clinics as well as facilitating general instruction.
In 2019, Steven operated as the Assistant Golf Professional at Streamsong Golf Resort, outside of Tampa, Florida. There, he developed a growing instruction footprint on the resort. Steven also managed the daily golf operations, organized golf outings, tournaments, and other events and clinics.
During the 2020 Global Pandemic “Shut-Down,” Steven and his wife, Ryah, welcomed their first child, little Steven. Due to the unprecedented times, the Wooten family returned to Atlanta, GA to be near family. There, Steven transitioned to Laurel Springs Golf Club in Suwannee, GA where he continued golf instruction. The Laurel Springs Ladies events, Junior Golf clinics, and Couples Tournaments were organized and operated by Steven. Currently, he is an Assistant Golf Professional and Player Development Professional at The Country Club of The South. Steven, Ryah, and Steven (Juni) live in Lawrenceville, GA.
